Debbie Newman - Project Manager, Barclays

 

Debbie has a broad experience in sales and marketing, most recently having established and managed the south west office for an independent mobile 'phone specialist working with SMEs from Swindon down to Taunton and Cardiff across to Bournemouth.

Prior to this she established the commercial arm of a boarding school in North Hampshire, hiring the facilities to local businesses, residential lets for foreign students, charitable events, weddings and parties. Her experience gained as sales & marketing manager for one of the leading groups of schools teaching English as a foreign language gave her valuable experience and contacts in this role. She smiles when remembering her 'patch' from those days which was fairly extensive as it stretched from South America up through Central America into Mexico and then up to Montreal, and then about half of Europe and into Turkey, Jordan and Syria. And all before the days of laptops and mobile phones.!!!

She is married to Bernard who is director of music at a school in Bath and they have two teenage daughters, Rebecca who is a nursing student in Bristol and Beatrice who hopefully will be going to the Royal Welsh College of Music in September.
